Keep Calm and Deal with Reality

As things get super dark and crazy, don't flip out. Christ is King.

Sometimes things can get super dark and crazy - way more dark and crazy than most of us imagine possible in the real world, or at least our part of what we think of as the real world.

Sometimes the lies we endure and betrayals we suffer are so extreme that they transcend “normal” levels of nightmare and can feel like living out a manuscript of Dark Mirror or The Twilight Zone that was rejected because the plot twists were just too nutty.

Sometimes once trusted people and institutions reveal themselves to be the exact inverse of what we thought them do be, and their mask-off moments can leave us feeling like we’ve been yanked from The Matrix and woke up at the bottom of a nuclear crater encircled by an army of ravenous Romero-style zombies directed by Cthulhu himself.

Okay, I laid it on pretty thick there, but you get the picture.

Believe it or not, the point I want to focus on is not the terror of these moments, but the way we react to them.

“Don’t flip out” is an easy thing to say but very hard to do when your world is suddenly nuked in the most horrifying ways, but that is exactly what we need to do.

Don’t. Flip. Out.

And if we do flip out, which is likely and quite understandable, we need to get out of that mode ASAP. Might take seconds, minutes, or years, depending on the Dark Mirror details, but we need to do everything we can to regain composure as quickly as possible. (I speak from some experience, and while I didn’t “flip out” when extreme evil pounced, I was in a punch-drunk fog for years in the aftermath of the catastrophic deception. God has been gracious to not only allow survival, but for many lessons to be learned.)

Each of us have our own strengths and weaknesses, so each of us will deal with Cthulhu’s zombie horde in different ways. This is our training ground. We are being forged through these experiences.

Yeah, unfortunately I meant to use the plural form of “experience” there since many of us will face more than one of these Twilight Zone events. But before you flip out about that, here’s the big, beautiful silver lining: As God gives us each of these crises to wade through, He is using them to forge us into something we would never become without the Cthulhu/zombie events by which we are being made into real men and real women capable of slaying real dragons.

So yeah, it sure seems pretty clear at this point that we really are, for the moment, being ruled over by literal satanic pedophile sex-trafficking monsters with infinite (fake) wealth and resources.

And yeah, we’ve become dependent on systems and cherished Blue Bill fictions that have systematically brought us to this dark event horizon.

We really are being fed upon like cattle by those who would have us dismiss King Jesus in political, economic, and educational practice.

We have bought into massive lies for generations, and the bill has come due.

We have fed ourselves and our children into explicitly anti-Christian systems and counted on those systems to provide law, order, and a 50,000 Dow.

We have enabled liars and looked the other way as laughably fraudulent experts, governments, and churches have raped the truth and pillaged the culture with impunity.

We have bought into and even loved supporting massive, self-serving lies for generations, and the bill has come due.

The gig is up.

The masks are off.

If you thought the stretch between 2020 and now was wacky, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

So take a deep breath and, as we covered in yesterday’s article, calmly absorb the reality of where we are now while not flipping out.

Christ is King.

He has you and I here in the middle of this mostly self-inflicted crapstorm for great purpose.

So deal with it like an adult. Ideally, a Christian adult who takes Christ as King seriously.

Pray without ceasing.

Repent when needed.

Start living life as if Christ really is King, because The Matrix isn’t just glitching. It’s crashing.

And that is a beautiful thing.
